The year is 2016. Earth is aflame.  A war rages across the globe between the heroic forces of the Pan-American Confederation and Oceanic Alliance against the vile forces of Armand Guiseppe, self-proclaimed ruler of Earth.  Two mysterious rifts in time and space have formed in Earth's solar system, connecting them to an alternate universe.  There, the year is 3059, and humanity is torn between two great factions, the Inner Sphere's Star League and the Clans of Kerensky.  Now, their war is coming to a new battlefield.  The battlefield of....

The Dogs of War have been unleashed, and a new generation of MechWarriors will be caught in the great inferno.  They are the brave men and women of Scorched Earth.  They are fighting for their homes, their freedom, their lives.

Author's Warning: My writing is not for young children, the faint of heart, or fascist moralists who want to restrict freedom of speech according to their ideas of morality (note: I actually do have a code of morals I uphold myself to, but I can't write all characters to follow that code or things get bland fast).

Finally, no, I do not believe that the UN is out to take away our guns and our religion.  And yes, Scorched Earth was inspired by web board postings on such matters at Spacebattles.com.  That and having a drunk, psychotic US Marine and a bunch of MechWarrior 3 fans in an online text/audio chat.  :-)
